Character Name: Greed
Canon: Fullmetal Alchemist
AU/OC/Previous Game: N/A
Age: Over 200
Appearance: Thanks to being in a younger body, Greed looks nothing like his age. Tall, muscular without too much bulk, red eyes and black hair. His hair is long and kept back in a ponytail except for his bangs which cover his face. Other distinguishing marks include an Ouroboros tattoo on the back of his left hand.

Clothing is a sleeveless, black Chinese-style vest with a black trenchcoat over that. His pants are black, too. Reference image is right here.

Greed also has his “Ultimate Shield” form where he can harden all or some of his skin. When he goes full out, it looks like this. Other times, he will simply harden specific parts of his skin or only form the massive hands for attacking.
Cause of Death: In canon, he's killed by his creator when trying to defeat him.
Impact of Death: He’s okay with it. Greed understood that by doing what he did, he was more than likely going to kick the bucket. In that moment before death, he was content with the things he had.

Character Info:
Background: A homunculus created countless years ago goes about tricking a man into giving him a human body. The thing about humans, though, is that they are flawed with desires that allow them to sin. This now man, who would become known as Father, created his own homunculi based on these very flaws that plagued his own body in hopes to purge them from himself. These homunculi, all based and given names based on the seven deadly sins, follow their “father” and assist him in his quest to become a perfect being via starting wars and slaughtering innocents. The only one who had a problem with all that following and giving was Greed. There was no way in hell he was going to hand everything over to Father when that all belonged to him. Leaving behind his “family”, he buggered off and we don’t hear from him again until a hundred years later.

Greed has been chilling in the underbelly of a certain city, biding his time with things that suit his fancy. When a clue arises in the form of a walking metal suit that could possibly give him what he wants, which is immortality, he ends up kidnapping said metal suit. Shit hits the fan when it turns out the metal suit is brother to a state Alchemist, Edward Elric, who after a failed attempt to rescue his brother goes to the military for help. The military swept in headed by the head of the military himself, Greed tried to escape with his subordinates, his subordinates save for one died at the hands of the head of military. Blinded by rage, Greed attacked, only to have that end up being a worse idea than the kidnapping. He payed for this stunt with his life.

That would be the end if it weren’t for an unfortunate incident that found a prince from a far away country at the mercy of Father. In a moment of revelation, Father decided to create a human-based homunculus with the Philosopher’s Stone that Greed had. The result was Greed being reborn, sans memory and with an annoying Xingese Prince named Ling now sharing his thought space.

Remaining loyal enough to Father to be his bodyguard, all that changed when a subordinate who knew the previous Greed tracked him down. Greed did his job in killing the intruder, not particularly caring that this person seemed to know him. He’d discarded the past! It’s when the person mentioned they were friends that memories of his past life hit him like a bomb. With Ling berating him for killing a friend and Greed now aware that his past possessions were no longer his, he proceeded to flip the hell out, attacked the man responsible for taking his past possessions away, and left Father and the other homunculi. Again.

For his own reasons, he went from being a lone wanderer and joined in the plan to take down Father . . . Albeit not without making it perfectly clear they were joining him and not the other way around. He stuck to his word and proved to be a great asset in the upcoming battle. Throughout this, he managed to cope with having someone sharing his body and developed enough of a bond with Ling to trust him enough that he wouldn’t run off with his body if he gave him back control at certain times. There’s a point where he feels comfortable enough with Ling to drop the “only the world will be good enough for me” act and admit he wanted friends who will stick by you through thick and thin more than that.

At the final showdown, Greed again proved his worth by sacrificing himself so Ling wouldn’t be destroyed along with him. In his final moment, he mused that people didn’t give him the respect he deserved, but it was enough.

Personality: Greed is, as his name would imply, greedy! Everything in the world is going to belong to him, and there’s no way you can prove otherwise. His motivation for all of his actions will always come back to that avarice. When he sets his sights on something, it needs to be his, and he will do most everything to get that. Which isn’t to say he’s all that bad! For all that greed that drives him, it doesn’t cause him to be an insanely evil person. He’s an honest and upfront fellow who will tell you himself he isn’t one to tell lies . . . Or fight women. These are mottos he lives by, and it’s these sets of morals that puts him in a separate league from the other homunculi, all of whom harbour a dislike of humans.

He’s pretty chummy with those he’s close to, in fact. When he said bye to Father and the homunculi, he went out and found himself a new crew to hang with. If you look at it from his everything-belongs-to-me angle, you could view these people as an extension of his possessions. His interactions with them are what sets them apart from plain ol’ possessions; he gives them a place to stay, treats them like one might treat family, he’ll apologize if he said or did something that was inconsiderate, he’ll kick some serious ass if someone brings harm to them. If you want to piss him off, just try hurting any of these people he claims “belongs” to him. And heaven forbid you should kill one of them. Hell hath no fury like a Greed who’s been robbed of his possessions.

In a similar fashion, the only time he’s ever let someone mess with his head is during a moment when he takes the life of one of his possessions. His skin is thick, and he isn’t going to be bothered if you’re someone who is hurling random insults at him in hopes it’s going to make him cry. He’s someone who’s very sure of everything he does and who he is to the point he takes an arrogant tone when speaking about himself. To top that off, his manner of speech is often crude and he is one to say whatever is on his mind. Don’t like what you hear? Too bad. Get used to it! If these are things you can live with, he can be easy to get along with. If you keep away or at least treat him with the respect he deserves, there won’t be an issue. If you have something he wants, on the other hand, that is going to be an issue. He will be nice when asking for something as long as he receives it. If you don’t feel like giving it up, he has no issues with fighting to get it.

Trying to be all emotional and deep and asking him to look deep down in his greed riddled heart to find out why he is the way he is are all things he can do without. He would rather you keep your nose out of his private matters. Any attempts at playing therapist with him will be shot down with the response being some variation of “I’m greedy” coupled with being told to fuck off. The only person who was able to hear Greed’s true desire was someone who he was stuck sharing a body with. The likelihood of him opening up much less wanting to open up to someone is slim to none. There’s a comfort zone with someone in your body that there isn’t going to be with other people.

Going back to that true desire, he does mention that it's friends who will stick with you. Again, he mentions this to someone who is literally living inside of him and was with him 24/7. If Greed is honest with himself, he knows what he said was true. Being honest with yourself, though, doesn't mean you need to be honest with other people. He cares deep down enough to sacrifice himself to protect those around him, and to allow himself for a brief moment before death to be satisfied with those same individuals. The caring is there, it's just not there to the point he's going to justify doing nice things as caring for people. All you need to know is you are a possession of his and he wants you around because he is greedy.

The drawback to all this greed is that even if he had everything in the world, that wouldn’t be enough for him. There’s this insatiable hole in him that’s never going to be filled by owning everything. He wants more than anything that one thing that will be able to fill that hole, and he’ll take everything until he finally finds it.

The easiest way to sum everything up would be he’s a jerk with a (sort of) heart of gold who believes he owns you and everything around you.

Old Game Info: N/A
Abilities (before Powercap): As a homunculus, Greed has a superb regeneration rate, incredible power and speed, and is nearly indestructible. Of the homunculus, he is known as the “Ultimate Shield” who can harden his skin to the strength of diamond for protection or to use as a weapon. He can do the opposite and turn his skin to the weakest form of carbon, but there’s really no use for that unless he magically gets absorbed again.
Abilities (after Powercap): He’ll be able to restore a teensy bit faster than those in Thusia. As for his shield, he can still use it, but it will only soften blows rather than leave him not feeling a thing.
